Data Science Projects

The decision to learn a programming language was to create and visualize plots
that were required for a manual of processes.

After learning the basic skills I started to enjoy it more, so I decided to
focus my attention towards a Data Analysis and Data Science path
in order to shift careers.

It has not been an easy task,
but I have been achieving and learning a lot during these years.

Below is a description of some (career and non-career) related projects.

Projects:

  • Customer Satisfaction Project Using MLOPS
  • Project development to predict customer satisfaction
    given a series of inputs.

    Development of pipelines to automate the steps required
    that cover from data ingestion to web app deployment.


  • Cancpred01 - Cancer Prediction App
  • Web App that uses a ML model to classify whether
    the user's inputs correspond or not to a specific disease [Cancer].


  • Medpredml01 - Medical Disease Prediction Application
  • Multiple project application that uses several
    Machine Learning Model Classifiers to predict whether
    the user's inputs correspond or not to a specific disease.

    The diseases that this project can predict are the following:

    • Cancer.
    • Diabetes.
    • Heart Disease.
    • Chronic Kidney Disease.
    • Liver Disease.



  • Medpreddl01 - Medical Disease Prediction Application using DL
  • Multiple project application that uses several
    Deep Learning Model Classifiers to predict whether
    the user's inputs (images) correspond or not to a specific disease.

    The diseases that this project can predict are the following:

    • Malaria.
    • Pneumonia.


  • 10 Deployed Web Applications
  • Multiple project web applications deployed on Streamlit.

    Web Applications Description:

    • 1. Stock Closing Price
      Shows the Stock Closing Price and Volume for a specific company.

    • 2. DNA Nucleotide Count Web App
      Counts each of the four nucleotides on a given DNA Sequence.

    • 3. NBA Player Stats
      Retrieving NBA Player Statistics from the internet.

    • 4. NFL Player Stats
      Retrieving NFL Player Statistics from the internet.

    • 5. S&P 500 Stock Closing Price
      Retrieving S&P Stock Closing Price Information from the internet.

    • 6. Top 100 Cryptocurrency Prices
      Shows Top 100 Cryptocurrency prices in a time period.

    • 7. Iris Classification
      Iris Species Classification.

      Penguin Species Classification.

    • 9. California Housing
      Regression on California Housing Dataset.

Creation of this personal website.

The decision to do the website myself was to implement
the skills learned on previous projects.

Manual of Processes

Creation of several manuals that describe
the general operational processes
involved on a free-grazing cattle ranch.


Objectives:

  • Document how the general operational processes were and are done.
  • Start to have a continuous improvement vision.
  • Start to observe and define areas of opportunity.
  • Use this knowledge as a baseline to improve processes.

Gardening

Used unnused garden space to grow vegetables.

Helped to reduce the cost of buying vegetables (around 8%) and also reduce waste by using organic scraps for compost for various seasons.

Some of the vegetables grown:

  • Kale (2 varieties)
  • Herbs (Many Varieties)

Road Cycling

Objective: To ride at least 80 km straight (2022).

The decision to use data as markers is important to me. I am wearing a Heart Rate Monitor and using an app that tracks basic (but important) information.

Aerobic endurance is crucial for riding long distances. I am focusing on improving it by riding longer distances with heart rate zones as a guide.

Update: On 2022 I could complete 105 Km on around 5 hours.




Running

My objectives are focused on running nowadays. (2022 - Present)

The objective is to run at least one 15 km run this year. (2024 - Reached)

Ran the El Paso half-marathon. (February - 2024)

Note: I believe the endurance (aerobic) improvement from road cycling will improve my condition to run for longer distances.

Objective: I want to run a marathon distance. (2025)








Coffee


I fell in love with the taste, the ritual and the tradition.

Besides the taste, I am impressed about
how many variables contribute to a brewed cup of coffee.
